When a family member or friend asks for a massage, it's important to know what you're doing, even if you're not particularly trained in it. Luckily, I am. It's been quite a few years since I started my massage career and it has been rewarding to see the positive changes in people's bodies, minds, and attitudes. It's what has mainly kept me in this field with higher education. Now it's time for more people like you to learn just how I have been so successful in medical massage therapy. Ready? Okay, first wash your hands for 20 secs. Of course this is elementary, it's also vitally important to keep those lessons well versed. If this helps, envision the body as a river. The blood flow is like water and there are boulders or rocks blocking it's path and causing pain. What needs to be done is removing those blocks to promote free flow again. Find concentrated areas of tension in the neck or shoulders and squeeze with your entire hand to a comfortable level and hold til the muscles let go. This should feel like tissue is naturally sliding underneath your finger tips layer by layer. And there you have it! I hope this helps you and a loved one. Please stay safe during this quarantine. For a reopening date email me here. If you need support during this time regarding COVID19 please visit 211connectsalabama.org or dial 211.

After every massage session, a massage therapist will ask their clients to drink at least one cup of water. Free flowing toxins that were released from the muscles are running through you blood stream and lymph nodes to be cleansed out through your kidneys and bladder. Catered stretches, like those above, help to keep those muscles cleansed & refreshed and preventing stagnation for your next recommended massage visit. Give them a try and see what stretches fits your specific needs.
